Flying Faculty
The Flying Faculty was established to advance education in those countries where neurorehabilitation is in its infancy. It delivers an expert training programme to a diverse group of health professionals in a short, intensive time period.
Summer schools
Neurorehabilitation best works as team approach. There are, however, some educational programmes that present the state-of-the-art across areas of neurorehabilitation (NR) in both a concise and comprehensive way with a clear focus on clinical practice.
Teaching programme
WFNR Teaching Course – one way to contribute to the development of neurorehabilitation services globally.
Regional Activities
Alongside the work of the Flying Faculty, WFNR works on a number of other activities throughout the world to help and assist with the advancement of neurorehabilitation.
Mentorship Programme
Our junior investigator mentorship aims to promote the professional development of young researchers and established investigators by pairing them with an experienced researcher whose research interests overlap.
Young WFNR
The Young WFNR membership is open to healthcare professionals interested in the field of neurorehabilitation with a cumulative professional experience of up to 10 years.
WFNR Webinars
WFNR produces regular webinars covering a broad range of neurorehabilitation topics. The webinars are free of charge and are available to view in the Webinar Archive after the event.

Neurorehabilitation & Neural Repair (NNR) offers innovative and reliable reports relevant to functional recovery from neural injury and long term neurologic care. The journal’s unique focus is evidence-based basic and clinical practice and research.
Franz Gerstenbrand Award
Entries for the WFNR Franz Gerstenbrand Award are welcome from clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals who are currently working in neurorehabilitation.

Other Awards
Since 2006, the Fürst Donnersmarck Foundation in Berlin has awarded a research prize every three years for outstanding achievements in the field of neurorehabilitation. In 2024, the prize, which is endowed with 30,000 euros, will be awarded for the seventh time.
